Terms of service
1) Made-to-Order & Personalized Products
All products sold on our website are customized and made to order. We do not sell non-personalized/blank items.
Because items are personalized, all sales are final once production/engraving begins (see Returns & Refunds section below).
2) Ordering & Customer Responsibilities
When placing an order, you agree that:

You have reviewed your selections (product, engraving type, placement options).

You have provided complete customization details (text/design choice/upload, and any Special Instructions).

Spelling and capitalization matter—we engrave exactly what you submit.
If required customization information is missing or unclear, we may contact you. Delays in responding may delay production and shipping.
3) Preview Disclaimer (Customizer Tool)
Our product pages include a customization/preview tool to help you visualize your engraving.
The preview is a general guide only and may not perfectly represent the final result.
Final engraving may vary due to:

product curves/taper, seams, edges, handles, and safe engraving areas
-
material grain, coating variations, and engraving contrast
-
scaling needed for best legibility and engraving quality
We may make small adjustments to improve layout, readability, and engraving quality while honoring your selections and instructions.
4) Placement & Special Instructions
You may select placement options (example: Front/Back/Front+Back/Wrap where available). Because exact placement may vary by product, you must use the Special Instructions box for exact placement requests.
Examples:

“Center on front”

“Opposite the handle”
-
“1 inch below the rim”
-
“Logo on front, name on back”
If no placement instructions are provided, we will engrave using the most standard placement for that product.
5) Custom Upload Artwork Rules
For custom uploads, you agree to provide artwork suitable for engraving.
Accepted file types: SVG (best), PNG, JPG
Transparent background preferred, but not required. If not transparent, artwork must be black design on a white background for best results.
We are not responsible for poor engraving results caused by low-quality files, screenshots, blurry images, extremely fine details, or artwork that is not engraving-ready.
6) Copyright, Trademark & Customer Permission
By uploading or submitting artwork, images, logos, or designs, you represent that you own the rights or have permission/licensing to use that content.
We do not engrave copyrighted/trademarked characters, logos, or brands (e.g., Disney, Star Wars, Nintendo, sports teams, major brand logos) without proof of permission/licensing. We may refuse any request we believe violates intellectual property rights.
7) Design Help / Artwork Preparation Service
If your artwork requires cleanup, resizing, background removal, conversion to black/white, or other preparation, we can help.

Rate: $30 per hour

Billing: 15-minute increments ($7.50 per 15 minutes)
Design help fees are separate from product costs and may be invoiced before work begins. We will confirm the scope and estimated time when possible.
8) Production Time & Shipping

Production time: 3–5 business days for most orders (begins after we receive complete customization details).

Shipping method: USPS Ground Advantage with tracking.

We do not offer local pickup at this time.
Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Carrier delays, weather, and peak seasons may affect delivery.
9) Address Accuracy
Customers are responsible for providing a complete and correct shipping address. If a package is returned due to an incorrect address, you may be responsible for reshipping costs.
10) Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Packages

If your item arrives damaged, contact us within [48 hours] of delivery with photos of the item and packaging.

If tracking shows “Delivered” but you did not receive the package, please check with household members and your local post office. We will assist where possible, but we are not responsible for theft after delivery.
11) Returns & Refunds
Because all items are personalized and made to order:

No returns or refunds are accepted once production begins.
We will remake or replace an item if:
-
we engraved the wrong text/design compared to what you submitted, or
-
the item arrived damaged (with timely photo documentation)
We are not responsible for errors caused by:
-
typos submitted by the customer
-
incorrect design selection by the customer
-
low-quality artwork uploads
12) Order Changes & Cancellations
Order changes/cancellations are only possible before production begins. Once engraving starts, the order cannot be changed or canceled.
13) Acceptable Use
We reserve the right to refuse orders that include hateful, illegal, or inappropriate content, or content we believe violates intellectual property rights.
14) Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Smoke & Sparks Laser Engraving will not be liable for indirect or consequential damages related to your purchase. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount paid for the product(s) in question.
15) Privacy
Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
